PANDORA'S BOX - REVISITED

PANDORA'S BOX - REVISITED

The story is that Pandora's "Box" is actually a jar in the original tale. As I decided what objects should accompany this jar/vase, nothing did it justice. A watercolored sheet of paper for background gave it a unique and mysterious feel, but something special needed to be added. My "jar" became a revisit of the Pandora tale, but instead of evil and treachery released upon the world, my version released good wishes of hope, charity, happiness, etc. I am compelled to create at least one painting a year that presents more than physical imagery, but releases thoughts or emotions as well. WIND JOURNEY I: "The Wave"

WIND JOURNEY I: "The Wave"

The first in the Wind Journey series. Three canvases depict the red netting blowing in the wind, reminding me of an ocean wave. Canvas 1, 18x24, Canvas 2, 8x8, and Canvas 3, 6x6. The inspiration for this series came when the wind caught red netting being used in a still life setup, blowing it in all directions!. Whipping it straight up, sideways, all with great energy - it was wonderful! There will be more paintings in the Wind Journey series.

WIND JOURNEY II: "Your Steed Awaits"

This wonderful tin horse was found among the antiques at the China Date Ranch, Tecopa, NV. It is perfect as a subject for the second Wind Journey series piece. It may look like a toy now, but in painting number three it will live! This will be a challenge for me, but I can see it in my mind and it will be wonderful. I even want to be the rider!
